(no subject)

I believe I mentioned the brass steampunk keyboard here a while ago, but I may not have because I wasn't very impressed with it. Don't get me wrong, it was certainly better than I could do without a lot of practice, but in my opinion it lacked ... panache. And the whole point of steampunk is the style of it, isn't it. So I'm pleased to find out that it inspired someone else to do their own take on the idea. It's not as clean, and it didn't require the same tools and know-how, but to me at least, it has the élan that the first one lacked.

Huh?

How does one come up with the idea of a sculpture like this? Did it simply come to them in a dream? Did the spill some coffee and have it look vaguely face like? Or did they come at it the other way, starting with the idea of liquid faces and then deciding that the liquid should come from somewhere? I don't know, but it's kind of neat looking.
