Well, it was such a nice day that, despite the road tires, I decided to brave the sand drifts and go biking. Just a short ~4 mile ride, getting back into the habit. Went pretty well, aside from hitting a pothole (what, a pothole? In Maine? In April? couldn't happen) just wrong and bending my rear rim. Not much, and the nice thing about an old bike like this is that the only side effect was it hitting the brake on every revolution and I was able to beat it back into shape with a hammer when I got home. I don't think it would have gone quite as well with an aluminum rim.
