This is one of those "why didn't someone think of that before?" ideas, although it may just be that there were coding problems. For those that don't want to watch the video it's a method of shrinking/enlarging digital images that calculates lines of least significance through the picture and removes or adds pixels along them. With a sufficiently high resolution image (and apparently a little manipulation if there are items the human mind will automatically notice oddities about, such as people) it can completely change the proportions of the picture without it being noticeable that you're not looking at an original image. Now, it might require an unreasonable amount of computer power, although we've now got that to spare, and near the end of the video there were some images it didn't really work with, but if it turns ot to be practical I foresee the internet getting a lot less blurry.
