New game (to me at least)

For those who enjoy turn based strategy games, I heartily recommend Battle for Wesnoth. The one I can think of that it is most similar to is the Shining Force series for the genesis, although even that has some considerable differences. Anyway it's fun, and it's free, what more can you ask for?

The one thing that I don't think I'm going to get used to about living here in San Francisco, thankfully I probably won't have to. Outside my ground floor window, just across the parking lot, there is one of the electric powered bus routes. Every now and then, most frequently when rounding a corner like the one within view from here, the electric contacts from a bus bounce free from the wires. The resulting arc can be quite bright, certainly noticeable even with the blinds closed. And if it happens in the daytime, sometimes I get a chorus of car horns while the bus switches to its emergency backup batteries and maneuvers to re connect the contacts. It can be quite distracting, but only some streets even have the wires, and I was planning on going somewhere both bigger and cheaper anyway, once I get a job to reassure landlords with.
