I just made one of my periodic attempts to expand my list of acceptable foods. I've managed to reclaim several ingredients that I was turned off of by one or another incident in my life, although there are some (such as eggplant, don't ask for the story that caused the dislike, please) that I haven't distanced myself far enough to try. This time I failed, and since Stouffer's has made very acceptable versions of dishes as diverse as lasagna and sesame chicken, several of which I first tried through their recipes, I guess I'll need to give up on this category for now.
This particular example was turkey tetrazzini, but such staples as chicken pot pie fall into the same mental space for me. I especially wanted to work through this one, because I don't know why I have this distaste. There is nothing in it that I don't like in other things, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Oh well, at least it was small and I have plenty of other food that I do know I like around. But honestly, why would anyone do that to perfectly innocent ingredients?
Edit: Given some of the words Livejournal's spellcheck doesn't know, why does it accept "disses"?
