Quoted from Neil Gaiman's blog:
Bat-sdrmg might be a job title of some sort, and since Mnorkan rods sound like part of some sort of space drive, hWphor must be the action that Mr Gaiman performs with those rods. Alternately, "hWphor of Mnokan rods" might be the job title, and bat-sdrmg would then be a descriptor differentiating Neil from his fellow hWphors. (I used his first name here because bat-sdrmg just seems like it would be a rather negative adjective)
P.S. That was fun to spell-check :)
Incidentally, I think Amazon are using more Optical Character Recognition these days. At least, according to this description I just cut and pasted from their description of Sandman: The Doll's House, where I learned,
Excerpt - Back Cover: "... . ~~- ~. ~ . _ .. " N Neil Gaiman is the New Yak Times bat-sdrmg hWphor of Mnorkan rods ..."
And, of course, I am.
