Another Outdoor Oddity

This time the creature exhibiting the odd behavior in question was a person. They were out walking their cat . . . in an odd stroller-like contraption. Sort of like a car carrier with wheels and a push handle, except made out of nylon cloth. The cat appeared to be asleep.

First question: What was this woman trying to accomplish?
Second question: Why does this product exist? It didn't appear to be large or sturdy enough to be a piece of re-purposed baby gear.

Probably easier to crate train the cat, than trying ot leash or harness train it.

No, they're manufactured pet carriers made for the purpose of wheeling a cat or small dog about in an enclosed way. They're used for people with invalid little dogs, who still like to get out and sniff some interesting outdoorsy smells, or for people taking cats or small dogs to shows; or for people like me who have cats and no car, and need to get them to a nearby vet's.

There are also people who take their cats for walks in them. Apparently. Odd.

Ah, that makes sense. Right, the product does have a valid reason for existing.

... in addition to allowing people who really ought to know better to pretend they are letting their pet enjoy the great outdoors when said pet would really rather be napping.
