Aug. 5th, 2007 12:24 pmYou know, even if I've gotten to the point where a 1.2 mile walk for a shopping expedition doesn't seem odd and where twenty pounds in an awkward shape is much easier to carry than a lot of what I did at S. J. Rollins, combining the two is still going to generate complaints. Oh well, once my shoulders forgive me, all I still need to get is some non-disposable cups/plates/bowls and then keeping the kitchen stocked with food.
On that note, google maps does have some weaknesses. If you zoom in on an area, and ask it for Trader Joes', it shows you where they are. If you ask it for more details, it will tell you that they are Grocers. However, if you search the area for Grocers, they do not show up. Nor do a couple of others that I have found through walking, but search on their names, and there they are. This makes things more difficult for someone who only has an hour of computer use a day right now.
I just took a look at the hours of some of the other branches, and they're even odder than this ones. I think I'm going to have to go with the funding/staffing argument having seen these. For example: Tues 10-9; Wed 1-9; Thurs 10-6; Sat 1-6. Or how about: Mon, Tues, Sat 10-6; Wed 1-8; Thurs 1-7; Fri 1-6. These do not look like the sort of hours an administrator would choose, unless they were working under some other constraints.
