A sudden school memory
Sep. 17th, 2007 11:43 amI wonder what, if anything, prompted these. First high school trigonometry, now middle school Home Economics. I just had a clear, almost movie like, memory of a household budget project wherein I annoyed the teacher. You see, I didn't budget anything for a car or cable TV. I wonder how she would react to knowing that I am living out that "unrealistically frugal" budget. I admit, looking back on it, that I had budgeted for an apartment that I would NEVER have stayed in. All we were given to work with was a copy of the classifieds, and I had no idea what Curve street was at that time... Of course, I also didn't budget anything for Internet, but that was before there really was much of an internet. Though, if I remember right, my father was getting onto bulleten boards with our Commodore 64 using a packet radio setup, but I digress. It's interesting to realize that even at what, 12 or 13? I already understood the monetary part of why I don't intend to own a car.
